WILLIAM ROBERT LE GEYT ANDERSON C.B. 


Colonel Bombay Supply & Transport Corps, later Accountant General and Controller of Military Accounts for the Punjab

Born Bombay 1850, the son of General William Coussmaker Anderson C.S.I.

He was commissioned as Ensign 1th October 1870,advanced to Lieutenant 28th October 1871, Captain 1st. October 1882, Major 1st. October 1890, Lt. Colonel 1st. October 1896 and finally to Colonel 1st October 1900, awarded the C.B. June 26th 1902 (Indian Staff Corps, he retired in 1903. and died at Stonehouse in Glos.October 3rd. 1908

(His son was Brigadier R.H.Anderson C.B., C.I.E. C de G. a much decorated Officer in WW1 and later with the 45th Rattrays Sikhs)

Lieutenant A.H.Q. Barr, Hartigan’s Horse, later 9th South African Horse, Military Cross, Geo V, unnamed as issued. With later silver copy bar, 1914-15 Star named to Lieutenant A.H.Q. Barr, Hartigan’s Horse. British War Medal and Victory Medal both named to him as Lieutenant A.H.Q. Barr. He was awarded the Military Cross for East Africa London Gazette 7th February 1919. Bar to Military Cross, London Gazette 30th January 1920. He was a Prisoner of War in German East Africa between 1st January and 18th November 1917 in German East Africa. Lieutenant and Quartermaster A.S. Crooks, 7th South African Infantry. Military Cross, Geo V, unnamed as issued. 1914-15 Star named to Acting Corporal A.S. Crooks, 7th South African Infantry. British War Medal and Victory Medalboth named to him as Lieutenant. Born 1880, enlisted 1912 and then served 3 years in action, retired 21st July 1919. With some research, the circumstances of the award of the MC are unknown. With london Gazette entries
